Simple Skin Care

Hello everyone, I'm back again with another blog post!! I can't believe that it is already the 11th of October, time is flying by!!! Today I am going to be doing an autumn related post on skincare. Now that it's starting to get colder we need to take more care of our skin. I am going to be giving you some advice on how to keep your skin looking good this autumn, some recommendations on great products and a reviews on each of the products I am going to be recommending. I am a big fan of the Simple Skin Care range and I use a lot of their products on a regular basis anyway and that is why all of the products in this post are all from Simple!! This is not a sponsored blog post, I brought all of these products myself and these are products I have used/loved for years!! This is quite a long blog post however I have tried to go into detail to give you the best review and recommendations. With out further a do lets get into it...!!

Here are all of the products that I am going to be talking to you about. These are all of the Simple products that I own and use regularly. I used to just use simple products because I thought that they really suited me however after testing other products I have narrowed down the main Simple ones that I love!! I did go through a faze of not using many simple products however I have narrowed down my favourites for you!!

Spotless Skin
Firstly is the Spotless Skin Collection. This collection is designed to help fight spots and contains all of the right ingredients to help your skin get through it's spotty stage and is mainly aimed at teenagers like myself.

What The Bottle Says: "It's a perfect blend of spot fighting ingredients and natural antibacterial goodness to deeply cleanse, purify and tone removing hidden dirt and unclogging pores"
"Results from Day 1"

What I Think: When I went through a bad skin stage I used this facial wash to try and help my skin fight against spots. I wouldn't say that I had instant results but I think along with the other spot fighting products my skin did clear up a little. It has a nice texture and has a slight foam when you use it. The smell is quite natural but also a little chemically for my liking, it isn't a very powerful smell but defiantly noticeable. If you are looking for a new facial wash to help with your spots I would recommend this based on the inexpensive price and that it does seem to clean quite well.
I would rate it a 5/10.

What The Bottle Says: "It's a perfect blend of spot fighting ingredients and natural antibacterial goodness to maintain moisture levels throughout the day and giving long lasting shine control"
"Results from Day 1"

What I Think: The moisturiser is my favourite product out of the spot fighting collection. It is a nice moisturiser that is inexpensive and useful to have if you have spots and dry skin. Personally I think that the texture of the product is a little runny, I always shake before use however it just seems to stay the same. I would say that it helps to control the shine in my skin but isn't too long lasting. I would recommend this as a good moisturiser for if you get the occasional one or two spots and just want to have a product that will help to fight against them whilst nicely moisturising your skin.
I would rate this a 6/10.

What The Bottle Says: "Get results in just 4 hours with our Spotless Skin Rapid Action Spot Zapper. It's a blend of spot fighting ingredients and natural antibacterial goodness. It's tough on spots but gentle on your skin"

What I Think: Where do I start with this product!! When I first brought it I really liked it however after using it for about a month I was starting to notice that it wasn't right for my skin. It initially worked really well however it did sting a little when I first applied it. The Zapper has a similar smell to the face wash, a little natural but also quite chemically. The texture is smooth and quite gel like however it is quite watery, although that is a good thing because it's thin when you apply it on the spot, it is sometimes drips out of the tube. I would happily say that it seemed to help fight the redness of my spots within four hours, but didn't get rid of them all together. This is a good product to apply if you have a few smaller spots that are often very angry and noticeable. If you want to try and get rid of the redness they defiantly try this zapper!!
I would rate this a 5.5/10.

My Overall Rating for the Spotless Skin products that I have tried is 6/10.

Everyday Selection
Next are the products that are useful to anyone to help clean your face and remove make up on a daily basis. These are products that I used to swear by and have used for several years. I use these products occasionally but I have more of a mix and match of brands, however these are defiantly some of the top Simple products!!

What The Bottle Says: "Our Purifying Cleansing Lotion is a perfect blend of multi-vitamins, skin-loving ingredients and gentle cleansers to cleanse drier skin keeping it smooth and softened"

What I Think: The purifying lotion is great a removing dirt from your face, it is recommended that you use in the morning and evenings to get the best results. I used to be obsessed with this product however now I only use occasionally to remove light make-up or if I want to clean my face in the morning or of an evening. I find that taking the product on a cotton wool pad will easily remove your make up leaving your skin dirt free. I would only use this if you have a light amount of make-up on, just because it's not that great if your wearing loads. I would recommend this if your looking for an inexpensive make-up/face cleanser because it does a great job at cleaning and is great value.
I would rate this a 7/10.

What The Bottle Says: "Now with vitamin goodness!! Our Soothing Facial Toner is a perfect blend of active ingredients and vitamin goodness to keep your skin clarified and refreshed"

What I Think: After using the purifying cleansing lotion, this is a great product to use after getting rid of the majority of dirt. Once I have used the lotion I like to go over my face with the toner, to remove any dirt that may still be left on my face but also to refresh my skin even more. Again I don't use this product as much as I use too but I tend just to use it on the days that I have light make up on or days where I just need to refresh my face. The toner is also really good at removing eye make up such as mascara or eye shadow. This is great if you want a new toner that refreshes your skin, removes make up and is great on a daily basis.
I would rate this a 8/10.

What The Bottle Says: "Our Hydrating Light Moisturiser is a perfect blend of multi-vitamins, skin-loving ingredients to keep your skin moisturised and pampered, and carries on working for twelve hours"

What I Think: I think that this Simple Moisturiser is honestly one of the best, really inexpensive and reliable drugstore products. This is a product that I have brought so many times and will continue to do so. Again though I don't use it as often as I used to because right now I am finding new products that I also like however this is one that I always come back too!! It is light weight and has a smooth, silky, balm like texture and smells nice and natural. It nicely hydrates my skin leaving it really soft. On the occasional time it has left a grease residue but I think that may be down to my bad skin days.
I would rate this a 7.5/10.

My Overall Rating for the Everyday Selection products that I have tried is 8/10.

Foaming Cleanser & Exfoliating Wash
These next two products are the two that I use most out of my Simple Collection. They are both facial washes that I love to use and will continue to buy. I would recommend these to any one because they are just really great products to have and they are really affordable.

What The Bottle Says: "Our Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser is a perfect blend of multi-vitamins and skin-loving ingredients to remove impurities and traces of make-up. Your skin will skin will feel cleansed and refreshed, with added moisturisers"

What I Think: The foaming cleanser is defiantly one of my most used Simple products, I use this on a daily basis and at the moment it is my favourite facial cleanser. What I like about the cleanser is that it foams up quite a lot and is really nice an soft to massage into the skin. When it is on the skin it sinks in quite well and the foam disappears. I use it more in the evens after wearing make up all day, it helps to remove any left over dirt on my face leaving it really clean and soft. It's also nicely refreshing, gentle on the skin and has a sweet natural scent. After using the cleanser I often go over my face with a toner and moisturiser. I 100% recommend this cleanser to anyone!!
I would rate this a 9/10.

What The Bottle Says: "Our Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash is a perfect blend of active ingredients and which hazel goodness to deep clean and refresh your skin"

What I Think: This clear skin, oil balancing exfoliating facial wash is again one of my most used Simple products. I use the product once a week or once every two weeks. Because it is an exfoliator it shouldn't be used everyday, it has tiny little beads in which help to gently exfoliate the skin. I enjoy using this on a weekly basis to help control the oil in my skin but also to get rid of any flakiness. I find that during autumn my skin becomes quite flaky and this is a good product to help get rid of the flakiness. I wouldn't say it gives a very deep clean, it is more of a light and caring exfoliator. It is great for sensitive skin because it isn't harsh and would give a slight exfoliation. To me it has a really natural scent, it is also a nice consistency because it isn't too thick or thin of a gel. I get the occasional breakout of spots, so when using this I find that it doesn't give you instant results but eventually there is a difference. So if you are looking for a new soft exfoliator I defiantly recommend trying this one.
I would rate this a 8/10.

My Overall Rating for the Foaming Cleanser & Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash is 9/10.

Daily Mini's
These are two miniature Simple products that I use if I go to sleepovers or if I ever go away an need smaller sized products. They are great to buy if you don't want to buy the full sized versions first, I think by trying these you can decide if it is worth buying the full sized ones.

What The Bottle Says: "Our Moisturising Facial Wash is a perfect blend of multi-vitamins, skin-loving ingredients to make your skin thoroughly cleansed and moisturised. Foaming and 100% soap free"

What I Think: My initial thoughts on this moisturising facial wash, was that it is very hydrating and has a very silky texture. It is really nice to apply to the skin and has a nice foam to it. I would recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin because it is really soft and not harsh on the skin. I have the miniature size which is really handy to take away with you if you go on holiday or if you go to sleepovers. If you are looking for a new moisturising facial wash I recommend this one because it doesn't leave the skin feeling dry, it cleans really well and you could always buy the small size to try before you buy the full size version. I would say that for autumn this is a great facial wash to have if your skin gets really dry.
I would rate this a 7/10.

What The Bottle Says: "Our Hydrating Light Moisturiser is a perfect blend of multi-vitamin and skin-loving ingredients to keep your skin moisturised and pampered, and carries on working for twelve hours"

What I Think: This Light Hydrating Moisturiser is exactly the same as the full size product that I reviewed above. It is in the smaller size so again it is great to take away on holiday with you or if you go to sleepovers. It is a really nice sized product to test the moisturiser if you don't want to buy the full sized version first.

My Overall Rating for these two miniatures is 7/10.
