High Street Vs. High End

This is crazy!! It just doesn't feel like October!! Hello everyone, I hope that you are all well!! Today it has only just sunk it that we are actually in October, where has September gone?!! I honestly don't know!! Anyway today I am going to be doing a fun little post titled 'High Street Vs. High End'. As you can probably guess I am going to be comparing things from the high street and the high end brands!! Being that it's October I can talk about Autumn as much as I want and this is great because it's my favourite season!! I am going to be comparing some make up products, clothes and autumn home decorations that are from high end and high street brands!!

High End: Charlotte Tilbury Gift Set. Drug Store: Blusher, Eye Shadow Palette, Eyeliner, Mascara, Lip Gloss, Lip Liner & Lipstick
Firstly is make up. I thought that I should make a complete Autumn package, so that you have nearly every make-up item you need this Autumn. I found this Charlotte Tilbury, Glamour Muse Gift Box which I thought looked very autumnal and pretty. I have tried to recreate the gift box but with more affordable drug store products. As you can see from the picture I have tried to find similar duplicates of each product so that you have a set, that is almost the same. Charlotte Tilbury is a very high end, luxurious brand which is great to buy if you can afford to pay the prices, the gift box below costs £165. However the drugstore set that I have created only costs £33.45 (including current discounts on some products). The drugstore set can be made however you want it too, you can add or take a away products, personally I think that the drugstore duplicate is really good for the high street and is just as good as the high end set. I have left a link to the Charlotte Tilbury Set and individual drug store products above in the caption of the photo, just in case you wanted to check any of them out!!

Moving on to clothes now, I have looked at some of the Autumn/Winter Runways of 2014. I have found some really nice high end pieces which I have again tried to find the more affordable high street versions of for you.
High End: Stella McCartney Jumper. High Street: River Island Jumper
High End: Stella McCartney Skirt. High Street: New Look Skirt
High End: Stella McCartney Coat. High Street: Topshop Coat
I decided to look at Stella McCartney's clothes, I really like her runways and after looking at her 2014 Autumn/Winter show it was so easy for me to pick out three pieces that I love!! As you may or may not know Stella McCartney is a very big high end brand, a lot of high street shops have very similar wardrobe pieces but at a way more affordable price. I really liked her slouchy grey knit jumper however £550 is most defiantly not affordable for me so I found a similar slouchy styled jumper from River Island for only £40!! Then I looked a some of her skirts, and this dog tooth patterned one is stunning but again is really expensive. I then looked on the New Look website and found a £12.99 look a like. Lastly I decided to look at some of her coats and found this really big oversized boyfriend coat which is £1,195 but at Topshop they have one that is so similar but is only £78!! I think that all of these pieces are very Autumnal and pretty so if you want to look at them I have again left links to each item in the captions of the photos.

Last but not least a little bit of home/room décor!! I couldn't really find any high end room decorations however I did find a few higher priced items that I found in other shops for cheaper.
High End: John Lewis Glass Jar. High Street: Matalan Glass Jar
My idea for the glass jar would be to fill it with fairy lights or little battery powered lights, then at night time switch the lights on so that the jar is sort of a like a lamp but in more of a decorative and autumnal way.
High End: John Lewis Cushion. High Street: Matalan Cushion
I also looked at cushions and as you can see these two are such pretty autumnal colours, the John Lewis Cushion is £30 which isn't too much of a high price but when you can buy this Matalan one for just £12 it is a lot more affordable but just as good!!
