Review ~ Benfit 'Beauty Score'
Hello!! So today I have decided to write my first beauty review on a makeup set that I recently brought from Benefit Cosmetics. I got the set about three weeks ago and I have tried all of the products. I have already had some of the products that are in this set, so I already knew what they were like. However there were several products that I hadn't tried before but wanted to try without buying the full sized product. The Benefit set is called 'Beauty Score' and it was made by Benefit to celebrate the World Cup, which also makes this set limited-edition. I paid £25.00 ($36) for the set which I thought was a reasonable. The set includes ten of Benefits beauty products but in the miniature sizes. This was exactly the kind of set I was hoping to get, because it meant I could try a selection of products and then if I liked them I could buy the full sized ones later.
This is sort of a long blog post however if there is one specific product that you would like to read about, then you can scroll down to find the photograph of that product and underneath will be small paragraph which will give you information on the product and my opinion of it. *All photographs are mine, unless stated* I hope you enjoy!!
Front & Back
This is what the set looks like. I love all of Benefits packaging as it is different to any other brand and is really girly and pretty. The back of the set has all of the information for each individual product.
Section 1
One things that I like most about this set, is the four mini's at the top. They are (left to right) Benetint, High beam, Stay Don't Stray and Ooh La Lift.
Benetint
Benetint is a rose-tinted lip and cheek stain that is naturally sheer and looks great on all skin tones. The colour gives a nice subtle rosy flush to your skin and lasts all day long. When wearing the tint on my lips I prefer to add a balm over the top to make the colour more glossy. The first few times that I tried the tint I wasn't sure of the tingle that it gave my lips. However I do have other products that make my lips tingle when I first apply it but after a while it goes away and that what this tint seems to do. I would buy the full sized product because I think that in the summer it is a great, light weight and easy to apply tint.
High Beam
The next product is Highbeam which is a satiny pink liquid highlighter, which can be applied to the brow bones and cheeks for a radiant glow. I like this product so much, because my skin tone is often very dull looking and so this highlighter makes it a lot more radiant but also adds a little shimmer. I often use this highlighter over my Benefit 'That Gal Primer' to give my face a healthy shimmery glow. Out of the first section this would be the first product that I would want to re-purchase.
Stay Don't Stray
Stay Don't Stray is one of Benefits eye primers. This primer makes sure that any eye make-up such as eye shadow last all day long with out smudging or fading away (so it literally makes it stay put!!). What makes me like this product even more it the fact that it helps to slightly cover any veins that are in my eyelids (it kind of acts as a concealer) but also I am really impressed with the difference a eye primer can make to how long your eye shadow lasts.
Ooh La Lift
This is Benefits Ooh La Lift under eye brightening boost. It is a pinky toned balm that is really nice to apply under or over your make up and it instantly helps to get rid of under eye dark circles and to brighten up your eyes. This is not my favourite Benefit product and I probably wouldn't repurchase it because I feel as thought it is a good under eye brightener but it isn't always good at hiding my dark circles but I will defiantly still use it.
Section 2
In the next section there is Porefessional, That Gal and It's Potent.
Porefessional
Porefessional is one of Benefits best known products and I'm sure you have probably heard of it before!! This is an everyday face primer that is lightweight, silky and easy to apply. I like this primer a lot and in my opinion it defiantly helps to decrease the appearance of any fine lines that I may have. I know that this is a product that I will continue to love and I would defiantly recommend it.
"That Gal"
This next primer is called That Gal, which I have never used before. I have always wanted to try this because my skin is often dull looking and this is a primer that is pink toned with light reflecting pigments that claim to help brighten your complexion. I defiantly do think that this primer helps to give my skin more radiance because it looks a lot brighter and with my other brightening products from benefit my skin has been looking a lot less dull. I think that this could possibly become my next favourite primer but I think I am going to test it for a little longer first.
It's Potent
The last product in this section is It's Potent. This was a product that I wasn't too familiar with. But now that I have tried it, I am obsessed!! Because I often get dark circles under my eyes I am open to trying any product that claims it will help to reduce the appearance. I have become a big fan of this product and I do think that it has helped to fade my dark circles. I usually test make up products (e.g. Eye brighteners, Concealers) but never before tested an eye cream, so I am not to sure on comparison to any other however so far it is working really good for me.
Section 3
So there are three more products left to talk about in this set. They are Hoola Bronzer, Bella Bamba and They're Real.
Hoola Bronzer
Hoola Bronzer is one of the best bronzers a girl can buy. I don't think that this product even needs much explaining because it's such a popular product that nearly every girl has in her make-up bag. But for anyone that is unaware of this product or would like to know more then I am here to give you that information. This is a matt bronzer which means that it has no shimmer or shine, it can be applied to the cheek bones, temples and jaw line (which is basically contouring). It gives a really nice healthy looking glow and is a product that can be used all year round. And it is my favourite product in the set.
Bella Bamba
Next is Bella Bamba which is one of Benefits popular box blushes. Benefit say that it is a watermelon coloured blush which I completely agree with. It gives a very pretty amplified look to the cheeks and I think that this is such a perfect product because no matter what colour I am wearing on my lips, Bella Bamba always seems to compliment it. After trying this product it makes me want to try/buy the other blushes in Benefits collection.
They're Real
And the final product in the set is the ever so famous 'They're Real'. This is a lengthening, curling, lifting and volumising mascara, that works wonders for any girls lashes!! This product is one that I especially love from Benefit. My eyelashes are very small and thin, so finding products that actually help to give me the full lash look is very difficult. I often tend to buy mascaras that do claim to help with the length and fullness because that's what I need. Most of them don't work however this one really does. Although the full size version is a bit on the pricey side for a mascara (compared to drugstore) I defiantly think that it is worth the money. I love the mascara brush and how it applies on to my eyelashes. Also I really like he consistency of the product and how it doesn't go clumpy or dry. This is a must have product if you have small eyelashes like myself or if you want to lengthen your eyelashes even more.
And that concludes my Benefit 'Beauty Score' Review. Overall I really love this set because I got to test the miniature versions of some of their most popular products which I may now buy full sizes of. I am pleased with how much I paid for the set (£25/$36) because it wasn't to out of budget and this has made me more of a Benefit fan!! If you would like to buy this product I will leave a link below and also a link to Benefits UK website. I hope you enjoyed this review and be sure to come back for my next post on Wednesday!!
