Celebrity's Wardrobes For Awards - Elle Style Awards

Hellooo everyone!! So recently as you may or may not know, there has been a lot of red carpet events and award ceremony's that the A-list's celebrities have been attending. If your like myself, you enjoy seeing what the celebrity's are wearing, but too also see which designers they are wearing as well as any crazy or outrageous outfits that the celebrity's have taken to the red carpets. I have decided to create this little series called 'Celebrity's Wardrobes For Awards' (which is quite self explanatory) but hopefully it will keep you up to date with big events, celebrity fashion as well as my review on what they are wearing. I know that I have missed out on a lot of the events since the start of the year but I thought why not create this series any way? It will be good for the future events!! Today I am starting this series with the 'Elle Style Awards' (all photos are sourced from the Elle website).

 

 

Taylor Swift in Julien Macdonald. I am not entirely sure on this style of dress for Taylor, after seeing photos of her at other events this definitely was not her best dressed moment. I don't particularly like the colour of the dress or the slit at the front however her hair and make-up looks really pretty, so I would give her total look at 6/10.

 

Ellie Goulding in Alberta Ferretti dress and Casadei shoes. I've seen Ellie pop up a few times at recent events, I am not too keen on this look but it seems rather boring. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. The first thing that I notice is how award the fabric looks at the bottom of the dress and it doesn't fall easily, it probably should have been tailored to suit her height so that it didn't crease on the floor. I feel as though Ellie could have worn a more funky/age appropriate dress, this is kind of plain and it seems like she tried to play it safe, so I give this a 5/10.

 

Olivia Wilde in an H&M conscious exclusive dress to the Elle Style Awards. I absolutely love this look so much, it's neither casual or too dress but just seems perfect for this event. The skirt looks nicely fitted around the waist which compliments her figure, the fabric looks nice and flowing with an abstract kind of pattern. The short sleeve blouse co-ordinates with the natural creamy colours on the skirt and I love the simple wavy hair and make-up, this is a definite 10/10.



Henry Holland (designer unknown). This is quite a cool way to jazz up a suit and Holland pulls it off perfectly. The chevron print with cropped black trousers makes a big statement, its sheek, stylish and suitable for this event. To accessorise the look Holland is wearing gold jewellery along with his signature hair quiff, I give this an 8.5/10.

 

Cara Delevingne in Vivienne West Wood Red Label with Messika jewellery. Love, love, love!!! Cara is so stunning, she rocks this LBD with confidence and sass!! Her make-up is perfection with smokey statement eyes and red lips with curled hair. I love the shoulder detailing on this dress and the front cut makes this look sexy and elegant, as well as mature. It has got to be a 10/10!!!

Sam Smith in Prada. I think we all know Sam Smith, I am a big fan, I love his music as well as this look. It's a very classic Sam Smith outfit, a nice navy suit that seems to be nicely tailored with a light blue buttoned up shirt. Simple but effective are the right words for this look and I give it a 8/10.

Molly King in Ralph Lauren. Wow, I feel like Molly hasn't been in the public eye for ages!! Anyway it's good to see her back from where ever she has been, but I'm not loving this dress, I feel as though the front cut doesn't really do much for her and the dress seems quite ageing. I think she could have worn something that was a little bit more age appropriate as she is still young and has a great figure so it would have been nice to see an on trend look but over all it isn't to bad thanks to her hair and make-up looking quite elegant and fresh. She seems confident in herself so I give this a 7/10

 

Abbey Clancy in Marc Jacobs. I am actually really liking this look, at first I wasn't sure but I think the white base fabric makes the black lace fabric seem more detailed. I really like the length of the dress and the hem detailing and I think it is styled really nicely with ankle strap shoes and the white clutch, I give this a 8/10.

 

Lindsay Lohan in PA5H. Okay I think it's about time Lohan get's a new stylist. This is just not a flattering image, the top half of the dress is really pretty with the jewelled collar and long sleeves but the huge side slit and what even it that underneath...? Some kind of netting? Well what ever it is, it just does not look good!! If the slit was to the knee with no netting and black ankle strap shoes Lohan's image would look so much better. Maybe it is just me being critical but I think she could be styled in something much better. However I still like her hair with messy looking waves and natural make-up with pinky lips. Overall it's a 4/10.
