MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter Review
Hi everyone!! Today I am reviewing the 'MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter' in the shade 'Pink Shimmer'. Recently I have accumulated quite a few new face make-up products, mostly blushers, bronzers and highlighters. Last Christmas I received this highlighter and I've gotten a fair share of uses out of it, so it seemed about time that I gave you my honest opinion/review.
The highlighter it's self is in this gorgeous spiral, wavy pattern that makes the product rather photogenic. As you can see from these photos the highlighter nicely catches the light and gives off a subtle pearly glow. Unlike most powder products this highlighter doesn't have the silkiest feel to it but instead rather chalky and gritty, I know that may sound bad but the texture only feels like that when you swatch it on your finger. However upon application to the face, the texture is not entirely smooth but resembles more of a regular powder texture. I find that when you swatch this powder using your finger, the pigmentation is great, but when using a brush to apply the highlighter it hardly transfers any product onto the skin, therefore I like to use my finger to apply it and then blend it out by using a small detailing brush, which does help to blend the highlighter nicely into the skin.
I tend to use a little amount of product due to there being a few occasions when it has looked liked dotted shimmer spots on my cheek bones...which is not the look I am going for!! I would say that you need a few practices with this highlighter to see what suits your skin tone and how it is best applied to your skin. Once I had "mastered" using the highlighter I found that it gives a nice subtle glow and nicely highlights the areas that the product is placed. It could be argued that the highlighter contains a bit to much shimmer but I think that you have to base your choice on how you personally apply the highlighter, how much you apply and where about you apply it. I have also noticed that the highlighter lasts quite a long time and easily remains noticeable for a good 4/5 hours without any touch ups.
The packaging of the highlighter is very simple, with transparent and white plastic packaging. It is rather sturdy and would easily survive in a cluttered make-up/hand bag. Also the container is reasonably thin so it doesn't take up a lot of room. You can purchase the highlighter here or here for just £3 which is a great drugstore price especially because you get a good 7.5g of product!! Overall I really like this for a drugstore highlighter, its affordable, easily accessible and I would say that it suit a lot of skin tones. Also it gives that nice healthy, subtle glow that looks amazing when it catches the light and that's exactly what a good highlighter should do!! I hope that you enjoyed this sort of in-depth review on this MUA highlighter and thank you so much for reading, don't forget to come back soon!!
