Boots Botanics Review
Hi everyone, I hope that you are all well!! So today's post I thought that I would write a review on a new product that I brought a few weeks ago. It is from the Boots Botanics range, which I have never really brought products from, before. However I was looking for a new morning moisturiser and this seemed to be a good option. I have really sensitive skin so I was looking for an inexpensive drug store product that would be very moisturising and calming on my skin.
The packing is very simple, but pretty. To me the theme of the packaging seems very natural, so it makes you think that the product its self is very natural and good for your skin. The moisturiser that I chose is called 'Mattifying Day Cream Shine Away' and it came in this small box with all of the information.
The tub is just like any ordinary moisturiser, but I quite like how the it isn't too colourful but quite plain and simple.
When I smelt the moisturiser for the first time, it was very fresh. I am quite bad at describing smells but this was very sweet but in a natural way. It didn't have the smell of any chemicals which is always a good thing!! When I read what it contained I was quite surprised but it smelt good.
The moisturiser is quite thin and lightweight however on the odd occasion it has felt a little too long lasting on the skin and didn't absorb straight away. Although sometimes when my skin is really dry it will absorbs straight away. I have been using it for about 7 weeks now and it seems to have made a difference in controlling the oiliness in my skin. I would say that it has helped my skin stay moisturised and it has been good with my sensitive skin. The only problem that I came across was when I took the moisturiser on holiday with me. I went to Greece for two weeks and on the plane it split all over my toiletry bag and other products. Before the holiday the moisturiser was really nice on my skin then after a few days of being away and in the sun, it started to sting my skin. It became really irritating and I had to stop using it. I was a bit disappointed but my skin is often more sensitive on holiday so I decided to wait and try it again at home.
After the holiday I started using it again and it was perfectly normal, so it must have been because of my skin being even more sensitive on holiday and also being in the sun. However after being back it has been my continuous daily morning moisturiser. Here is a photograph of the box and what it claims to do to your skin and what it also includes...

I have highlighted some of the ingredients that I thought were interesting. The Boots Botanics range is made from different plant sources. The moisturiser in my opinion defiantly helps to mattify my oily skin. It also contains an SPF of fifteen which is great for your skin because it's protected from the sun, just in case you forget to apply sun cream.
Overall I think that it is a great product for £4.99. It is great for warm and sunny months of the year because of it's SPF and Mattifying effect. I find that it is really light on the skin, it has no harsh chemicals and seems very natural and is also very hydrating. I would rate this product 8/10 and I would recommend this for you to try if you are looking for a new morning moisturiser. I also recommend the other products in the Botanics range they all look really good and are very inexpensive!! That's all for my review, I hope that you enjoyed and don't forget to come back on Saturday!! Bryony xx
